If your TV runs Google TV or Android TV out of the box, you already have everything you need. Install the Ambicast player from the store, pair it once, and the screen is live. Many modern TVs from Sony, Philips, TCL and Hisense ship with Google TV built in.

Got an older TV? A streaming stick adds smart-screen powers for the price of a takeaway. We test the popular ones so you know what to buy: the Amazon Fire TV Stick (from ~£30) and the Google TV Streamer 4K both run Ambicast reliably. Plug into HDMI, pair, done.

Any tablet or browser

A spare tablet makes a great countertop screen, and any computer or kiosk with a web browser can display a playlist too — just open the player URL. Perfect for a window display, a reception desk, or testing before you mount a TV.

Cheap hardware shouldn't mean unreliable screens. We test and score every device for how well it plays your content — so before you buy a stick or mount a TV, you know it'll hold up. If a device is borderline, we tell you, instead of letting it fail on the wall.
